AGBO Stages Rally

Returned to my motorsport roots this morning, dragging along a couple of friends to share the experience with me. It was icy cold and wet - just what single-venue/multi-use rallying used to be like back in the 80's.

Sandwell Valley - MB Pump Track

Stopped by the relatively new mountain bike "pump track" this afternoon, spoke to a couple of cyclists who were pleased to ride a couple jumps/berms for the camera.

As this was the first time shooting cyclists, I've not yet determined the optimum settings - these were the best of the bunch. Cheers guys.

Sandwell Valley - More Herons

Returned again to Sandwell Valley Country Park this morning, although with my own lens (the Sigma 150-500 having reluctantly returned to it's owner).

Lauren Sheppard

Another first for me, thanks to Birmingham Photographic Society - the opportunity to photograph a model:

Sandwell Valley (different lens)

I was given the opportunity to try the Sigma 150-500mm lens for a weekend (a little more reach than my Canon 100-400 L lens). There wasn't much about with respect to woodland birds, but there were Herons a plenty:

Cross Country (Bitish Nationals)

Held at Cofton Park, with a big National field it was difficult to pick out individual runners for that desired photo. Never the less, I came away with a few "keepers":

If I was a paid sports photographer I'm sure I'd be more impartial, but when your Niece is running for a Country, you do find yourself looking for the gold vest with the green diagonal stripe :-)

Sandwell Valley

It seems an absolute age since I last went for a walk around Sandwell Valley.

Was great to be out in the sunshine, albeit a little chilly, and talk to other photographers whilst capturing the wildlife:

Grey Heron
